MISSION STATEMENT

TO PROMOTE, EDUCATE AND DEVELOP AN APPRECIATION OF THEATER AND DRAMA, WHILE PROVIDING WHOLESOME ENTERTAINMENT TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH AN ATMOSPHERE OF FUN AND FELLOWSHIP WHILE BRINGING CHEER, JOY AND HAPPINESS TO ALL WE TOUCH.

TROUPE OVER THE HILL has been part of the Hilltop Lakes community since 2009. We began this journey from conversations at the Texas shaped swimming pool with the ladies in the morning swim club. One thing led to another, and before you knew it we had a group going. We met at homes to begin organizing and dreaming. We brought in more and more people, along with more and more ideas. We are growing. We again plan to present two plays each year – one in the spring and another in the fall. We provide a Summer Youth Drama Camp each year. We are active with other organizations to help provide entertainment for their group. Troupe is now a member of the Theatre Nework of Texas, Inc. (TNT), along with being a member of the Arts Center of Brazos Valley.

We have a home theatrical venue in Normangee, Texas.  The Main Street Playhouse was purchased on April 27, 2021.  The Playhouse is also used for various artistic activities, including quilt shows, karaoke, movies, piano parties and more to come. We own very flexible stage units, theatrical lights, sound equipments, many props, scenery back drops, curtains, a varied costume wardrobe and a growing library of scripts. Each one of you is invited to become an active particiapant in this production.  There are so many different jobs, which need to be done to produce a successful evening of entertainments for our audiences. So, whether you like to “ham it up” on stage, configure the stage for the “hams”, or sell the “ham” to the public, there’s a job waiting for you. Oh, yes, we do have a lot of fun, too!!
