GOLF COURSE – ANNOUNCEMENTS & “THANK YOU”

FIRST– as indicated in the original announcement regarding weekly closures of the golf course for maintenance, I want to remind everyone that the course will be OPEN on Memorial Day (Monday, May 29) as it is a holiday.

SECOND – after considering property owner input and advice from the golf course superintendent, the weekly closure of the Golf Course for maintenance will move from Mondays to Tuesdays starting Monday, June 5th, 2023.  On Tuesdays after June 5th, the golf course will be closed to play and cart traffic, all day.

Thank you in advance for observing the weekly full course closure for maintenance and course recovery time.

THIRD – replacement of the front nine greens will begin soon and will result in full closure of the front side of the golf course for 3-4 months.  In addition to greens replacement, other much-needed work will be performed by staff and volunteers during the closure.  Please support the success of all efforts by observing the closure and remaining off the course (including the cart trails) until the front is officially re-opened for play.  Closure will remain in force until the greens are fully ready for play – current estimates for re-opening day are early to mid-September.

EFFECTIVE MONDAY – JUNE 5, 2023

THE FRONT NINE WILL BE CLOSED

TO ALL PLAY AND NON-CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE TRAFFIC

We recognize that during closure of the front nine, traffic will be substantially heavier on the back nine.  To minimize the negative impacts of the potential doubling of traffic on the back nine, some measures (example – roping off fairways) may be taken throughout the closure – we will do our best to inform golfers of significant measures as early as possible.  Please note that this will be the first extended closure of part of the golf course in many years, if ever – staff will work diligently to make it as pleasant as possible for all property owners – it may be a learning process for all, but direction/decisions will be made with the best intentions for both the course and the property owners – please follow staff instructions and all posted signage during this time.

FINALLY – a very big THANK YOU to both the MGA and WGA for suspending designated play days during the closure of the front nine.  The decisions taken independently by both organizations support both benefit to the course AND to all other golfing property owners during the closure.

More to come as information is available.
