The Hilltop Lakes Lions Club is our local chapter of Lions Clubs International, the largest service club organization in the world. The international organization has been in existence since 1917 and our local Lions Club was chartered in 1967. Since being challenged in 1925 by Helen Keller, one of Lions Club leading areas of service has been eliminating preventable and reversible blindness. Lions Clubs sponsor summer camps for disabled and diabetic children, work with the deaf, Youth exchange programs, and scholarships.
The Hilltop Lakes Lions Club has several fundraisers each year to fund their service projects. The funds that Lions Club raises from public fundraising projects must be used entirely for service. Your purchase of a telephone directory will be helping someone through the Hilltop Lakes Lions Club service projects.
Major fundraisers of this club are: weekly Bingo, annual Golf Tournament, July 4th concession stand, and Hilltop Lakes Telephone Directory.
A partial list of what these funds are supporting is:
Texas Lions Camp | Scholarships for Normangee ISD |
Still Creek Ranch | Lone Star Lions Eye Bank |
Normangee Food Pantry | Health For All |
Leader Dog Program | Hospice Brazos Valley |
Local Angel Tree | School HOSTS & Mentors |
Leon Co. Child Welfare Board | Disaster Relief Donations |
